1. Our commitments
As a seller of consumer products in Canada we operate under the Canada Consumer Product Safety Act (CCPSA). That means we:
- report serious product safety incidents to Health Canada as the Act requires;
- stop selling any product subject to a recall or a stop-sale order immediately;
- cooperate fully with recalls initiated by manufacturers, Health Canada, or (for products shipped to the United States) the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC); and
- keep records of our suppliers and buyers so affected products can be traced.
2. How you will hear about a recall
If a product you bought from us is recalled, we contact you directly using the email on your account, with the recall notice, the affected lot/order details, and exactly what to do. We also post a notice on our site. This is one reason order history stays attached to your account.
3. What to do with a recalled product
- Stop using it immediately, and keep it out of reach where relevant.
- Follow the instructions in the recall notice — depending on the recall this is a refund, replacement, or repair, always at no cost to you, regardless of our normal return rules or how long ago you bought it.
- Do not ship anything back unless the notice asks you to; some recalls require safe disposal instead.
4. Reporting a safety concern to us
If you believe a product bought from SortaHub is unsafe — even without an official recall — report it to our contact form with your order number and a description (photos help). We review every report, and the CCPSA obliges us to pass serious incidents to Health Canada. You can also report directly to Health Canada or, in the US, to SaferProducts.gov.
5. Relationship to other policies
Recall remedies sit above our Return & Refund Policy: exclusions like change-of-mind rules or return windows never apply to a recalled product.
